FAME FEST

Fame Fest is a Street Festival hosted every May in reverence of Confederate History Month in North Carolina on the third Saturday of the month at Old Lutheran Cemetery in the vicinity of the Fame Confederate Monument which consists of local vendors, living history displays, presentations, public speakers, walking tours, and a memorial service.

Inspired by the removal and relocation of the Fame Confederate Monument, Gloria Victis, to the rear face of a Confederate Mass Grave within Old Lutheran Cemetery in Salisbury, NC, Fame Fest was created to celebrate the fact that our Monument to Rowan County, North Carolina still stands in reverence to the Confederate Dead of our land now in the city's oldest Cemetery and in the vantage point of a dead-end street and green space where Fame Fest is hosted.

History is everywhere, and in everything, from old homes, to significant events, and even what you did yesterday. Records of our past can be found everywhere about anything worth documenting for their impact on our lives and on society as a whole. The War Between the States was what many call a Civil War despite being between two countries, and yet today of all historical topics in American History, the Confederacy is demonized and outright hated for existing to the point of removing symbolism from public spaces tied to the former four year struggle for independence.

Fame Fest defies those odds, it rallies behind the towering Angel we still have to ell those tales, and we celebrate those patriotic values of a free society driven by our shared Constitutional liberties vested to us to press onward.

Memorialize the sovereign intent of the Southern Men and their duty to serve their families and defend the Country for which was established by the founding principles by that of the United States and the American Revolution
