Restoration Work

Identifying

The FPG takes great care in restoring existing headstones belonging to Confederate Veterans that have fallen victim to the environment they're in from weather erosion and decay by locating, assessing and properly repairing the stones.

Repairing

Our organization uses various methods of repairing old historic headstones ranging from cleaning the surfaces, applying D2 Biological Solution and constructing new metal braces for broken stones which can be pieced back together.

Rededicating

When individual headstones are fully repaired to the best of our ability using the methods mentioned above, our organization often times will rededicate the headstones belonging to significant historical individuals who contributed to our society such as Captain Leonard Henderson featured here who served in the 8th North Carolina Infantry Regiment and died in the Second Battle of Cold Harbor in Virginia.
